Kelp can be used for so many things, from pharmaceutical uses to biodegradable plastic alternatives and fertilizer. Our kelp is of really good quality so nearly all of it is used for human consumption. Check out our ideas for your kitchen!(/our-products)
Kelp is a nutrient-dense food packed with vitamins and minerals. It contains 6 times more calcium than milk, more iron than a serving of spinach and more fiber than a serving of brown rice. Some of the vitamins it contains are vitamin K, A, C, E, and B vitamins. It is also a natural source of iodine and low in carbs.

Iodine is an essential mineral for the human body. Many people are deficient in iodine and need to supplement it. However, if you have certain conditions such as an overactive thyroid, you should be limiting your iodine intake. If in doubt, speak to your healthcare provider.
Our cooking process removes most of the iodine - and also gives the kelp its bright green colour!
This is THE question we really get asked all the time. Understandably - since dulse (or duileasc) is the most popular type of seaweed eaten in our area, the north coast of Ireland. Many people will go and pick it from the rocks in the summer. However, we focus on growing the large brown kelps instead.
